The Art of Invention: Chain-Reaction STEAMpunk Machines™ Camp

In this exciting hands-on day camp for grades 8 – 12, participants will be introduced to the engineering design process while they learn and use basic science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) concepts to design and build their own steampunk-themed automata machines. Participants will learn about the design of mechanical movements, electric circuits, Arduino® programming and computational thinking, genre-specific aesthetics, and retro-futuristic storytelling. The project-based approach will emphasize problem identification, brainstorming, problem solving, rapid prototyping, teamwork, and communication. The camp will culminate with an exposition of steampunk-themed automata machine projects that participants can take home! Camp registration is $300.
